Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Bicak Has Attended the Egyptian Higher Education Quality and Accreditation Authority Conference

Rauf Denktas University President Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Bicak was invited exclusively to an international conference on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the foundation of Cairo Higher Education Quality and Accreditation Authority (ANQAAE) which was held on April 22 – 23, 2018. Professor Bicak had the opportunity to meet with the quality assurance agency directors of many countries that have contributed to the development of ANQAAE. The International Conference on “Quality Assurance in Higher Education: Recognition, Confidence and Internationalization” was attended by the President of the American Accreditation Board (CHEA), Judith Eaton, Director, United Kingdom Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Douglas Blackstock, Head of Quality Assurance Association for Higher Education in Arab Countries (ANQAHE) Badr Abul Ela, and many other representatives from Arab and European countries have joined the conference.

Established in 2007, the Egyptian National Higher Education Quality and Accreditation Authority has been the most important milestone in the development of Egyptian higher education. ANQAAE has improved its quality standards and processes in order to implant high-quality standards and to share good practices with universities over the last ten years, has started to evaluate universities on an institutional and program basis.

Mr. Hossam Badrawi, former Egyptian MP and president of the Badrawi Foundation, and Nadia Badrawi, former chairperson of the Quality Assurance Association of Higher Education in Arab Countries have become major contributors in these accomplishments.

During his stay in Cairo, President Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Bicak also visited a number of private universities and met with the authorities and exchanged views on mainly quality assurance, exchange of faculty members and students, in the near future.
