Dear Students, I would firstly like to emphasize, that our Architecture program is designed for students to experience the stimulation of artistic sensitivity and creativity. The program strives to create environmentally responsible architects by highlighting the modern-day environmental issues and problems we face on a global scale, you will be equipped with the necessary knowledge, understanding, skills and competencies to swiftly adapt and create unique design solutions in the ever changing and developing world. Therefore, the target of our program is to promote and strengthen intellectual growth and the capacity to develop creative and responsible solutions to unique and changing problems alongside helping our students acquire the individual capabilities necessary for the competent practice of architecture and lifelong learning. The Architecture program encourages our students to be active not passive learners, our classes have an interactive design studio-based approach that promotes students to participate and communicate ideas actively. With this in mind, our faculty instructors, assistants and coordinators are always ready to provide the right support. Upon graduation from our architecture program you will be expected to demonstrate, creative thinking, designing, artistic skills in visual and verbal communications, 2/3 dimensional drawings, skills in digital art and communication, the ability to think and apply design solutions to complex environmental issues, show analytical and problem-solving skills. Overall the target of our architecture program is for our students to be imbued with a sense of responsibility for teaching and instilling in others the value of architecture on the lives of people and have a diversity of experiences in cultural and social conditions that inform the built environment, to be unique, creative, and responsible designers with a solid foundation in architectural knowledge skills and competences that are industry standard attributes for international employability.
The Mission Statement of the Department of Architecture:
The mission of the department is to educate future architects, scholars and decision-makers, who have an ethical and critical approach towards developing awareness on societal, cultural and environmental issues. The new forms of critical thinking and research-oriented learning are emphasized through studio based holistic curricula, integrating theory and practice and having a variety of post-graduate programs.
The department that has multicultural student profile encourages diverse methodologies for lifelong learning and research possibilities, providing good research data bases and resources to attract qualified, diversified and enthusiastic researchers and students from all around the world. Due to owned democratic, participatory and transparent character of the department, sustainable educational milieu is supported by the continuous accreditation process.
In order to have graduates who lead and serve for many sectors of the society, the department stresses on up-to-date knowledge of technologies, teamwork and intellectual development through innovative and creative activities. The graduates are expected to cope with rapid global changes, to react rationally as well as creatively to contemporary issues in architecture, its problems and challenges.
